Alexandra Maria Lara has been an Romanian/German film and television actress for over a decade. Alexandra is well-known for her the roles she played in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the only child from Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into showbiz early and landed up acting in lead roles on various television dramas by the time she turned 16. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. The film won an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's work has led her to participate in several significant national and international productions. These include British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as well as French history mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of both jury for the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
